week of learning & shining hearts

Well, I guess our learning glimpses are just going to sometimes be very quick glimpses.  I only have one piece of photo evidence from last week where we explored the NE USA and planned a weekend trip -

Our readings included The Boy Who Grew Flowers by Jen Wojtowicz, The Lonely Shadow by Clay Rice, Elsina's Clouds by Jeanette Winter, Mama Is It Summer Yet? by Nikki McClure, Barron's Mixing Colors Is Fun, You Are a Star by Michael Parker, Welcome to the Ice House by Jane Yolen, Owl Moon by Jane Yolen, and All In A Day by Cynthia Rylant.  I especially liked the beautiful star-earth connection of You Are a Star and the hush-excited adventuring of Owl moon.

The kids and I also made a dozen valentines for local nursing home residents.
